What is Gorilla Translation?

Gorilla Translation is a Kobalt Languages S.L. (www.kobaltlanguages.com) brand. Kobalt is a language service provider founded in 2010 that offers translation, localization, interpreting, and language consulting services to companies around the world. Gorilla Translations is its 100% online little sister.

Who translates my document?

Your document will be translated by a professional, experienced native translator with a university degree who has also passed our approval process and is regularly evaluated. This process ensures that all translations are done by top professionals worldwide.

How do you count words?

When you upload your file to our word counter it automatically counts the words so that we can offer you a quote.

 

You can count the words yourself using the "word count" function of your text editor and enter the number manually. We will confirm the word count before starting the project and we will contact you if there is any difference between our count and the number you gave us.

Can you translate a website?

Of course. We can translate web file formats like .html, .xml, .xliff, and others. If you've got a more complex project, contact us: our team of experts is here to help.

What if my project is somewhat more complex or I need translations more often?

You can contact us by mail at info@gorillatranslation.com and explain your needs in greater detail. We'll find the best way to work together.

Do you do sworn translations?

Unfortunately, we don't. Sworn translation requires that all the pages be signed and stamped by a sworn translator and the translation be physically sent to the customer. Gorilla is a 100% online company and we do not send translations.

Is my data safe?

We comply with the stringent European Data Protection regulations (GDPR) and we invest in security measures for our equipment and networks, which are constantly monitored and updated.

Is the payment secure?

Do you save my credit card information?

We use the Stripe's payment gateway (https://stripe.com/), a world leader that complies with the strictest security protocols. It is the same payment gateway used by websites like Booking and Deliveroo.

Why do I have to give you my personal information?

We have to ask you for some basic information so that we can issue an invoice. This is a mandatory requirement for compliance with current tax legislation.

Why do I have to pay in advance?

We ask all our new clients for 100% of the cost of the translation to confirm and start their translation. For regular and repeat customers, we can invoice after delivery of the translation. In these cases, please contact us by email.

What happens if I do not receive my translation by the deadline?

If we have confirmed your translation and you have not received your translation by the deadline, we will refund 50% of the price of the translation. If the translation is delayed for more than 24 hours, you will receive a 100% refund.

 

Please keep in mind that, if we contact you to ask questions or clarify an issue, the countdown to delivery stops and doesn't start again until the question or issue has been resolved.

What is Basic translation?

Our most inexpensive translation plan is a combination of machine translation and proofreading. First, we translate the content automatically using either a generic or specialised machine translation engine, and then the result is checked for possible errors. The proofreader does not address style or preference issues.

What advantage does machine translation have over a translation that I can do with Google Translate, for example?

There are two reasons for choosing our basic plan over a free translation engine like Google Translate or any other that you can find online:

 

On one hand, our engines are private and your content will not be shared publicly, unlike when you use a free engine, where the information you provide becomes public domain.

 

On the other hand, you will have the peace of mind that a qualified professional has checked and approved the translation and you will not have to blindly trust the free translation.

Does machine translation work for everything?

The truth is, no. Automatic translation is not recommended for translating everything, nor is it for every language combination. However, it can be an ideal solution if the content to translate is product descriptions for a website (think Amazon, for example) or user product reviews.

What is Professional translation?

It is our most popular service and the one that adapts to the greatest number of needs. A professional native translator translates the text and a second translator reviews a part to assess the translation quality. Finally, the translation goes through a quality control check before delivery.

What is Premium translation?

Premium translation is our most comprehensive service and we recommend it for particularly critical content. In addition to the translation by a professional native translator, a second linguist reviews the entire text and checks that the translation, the terminology used, and the style are correct. The last step before delivery is a quality check.
